What we commit to
What we do
You write a letter and name the people it should reach. We store it in encrypted form and undertake to deliver it to those people when our delivery trigger fires, as described in how it works.
What we do not claim
We do not claim to be able to detect the rapture, and nothing on this site should be read as saying otherwise. Nothing in our system detects anything. Delivery is started by hand, by a named administrator who has decided that the day has come, and requires two separate actions a day apart. That is a human judgement and it carries the failures of one: it may be made in error, and it may never be made at all, in which case your letter is never delivered and no one is notified.
Longevity
You are paying once for something we may hold for a very long time. We designed the business to last: one payment, no subscription, no outside investors with exit timelines, and as few moving parts as possible. Your letter stays here for as long as it takes.
All sales final
All payments are final. There are no refunds. You are paying for us to hold and deliver your letter, and that commitment begins at purchase. You can delete a letter at any time, but deleting it does not return the payment.
If you are unsure whether you want to say a thing yet, leave it as a draft — drafts cost nothing and can be edited or deleted freely. Once you pay, the words are fixed.
Physical letters
Physical letters are printed and posted by us when the time comes. Postage costs may rise between now and whenever your letter is sent. We will not decline to send your letter for want of a stamp.
What we can read
We can read your letter. See privacy for what that means and what we do about it.
Limitation of liability
If we fail to deliver a letter because of our own error, and you or your estate can show it, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for that letter. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from a letter that does not arrive.
Age requirement
You must be at least 18 years old to use this service.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Delaware.
